Generac Portable Generators

Are you looking into Generac Portable Generators?  Many people seek out Generac Portable Generators to provide some extra power throughout hurricaines or tornados or sometimes just for camping purposes or for use on a industrial work site.  These generators are well designed and this is a trusted brand name so you pretty much can’t go wrong with any of their models.

However, I’m going to provide you with some detailed information on them In order for you to better be able to make a purchase decision.  These babies vary in price greatly.  Although you may be able to find a small generator for under $1,000, chances are you’re going to be paying more than that, and at least $2,000 for a decent generator that will last you many years to come.

With that having been said, here are some Generac Portable Generators for you to consider when you’re out shopping for one:

1.  Generac 4582-2 Ultra Source 15,000 Watt Portable Generator

Specs:

• 15,000-watt portable generator with enough power to run 4-ton A/C unit
• Powered by 992 cc Generac OHVI V-Twin industrial-grade engine
• 16-gallon fuel tank provides 10-hour run-time at half-load capacity
• Easy electric start; 9 outlets including 50 Amp high power outlet, 3 twist-lock plugs, and 2 GFCI protected duplex outlets
• This item is CARB compliant

This generator comes with easy to follow instructions and runs well, however the caveat Is it is both heavy and loud, it sounds like a Harley running at 3500 rpm.  This will be able to run your entire house if need be, your air conditioner, washer, dryer, stove, microwave, fridge, freezer, everything.  You will be able to keep your frozen food from going bad with this should you encounter an outage of power which lasts a couple of days.  This unit will run you about $2,500.

2.  Generac 5622 GP Series GP5000 6,250 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator

Here’s a generator which is cheaper than most Generac portable generators, it will cost you around $650.  Here are the specs:

• Steel fuel tank with incorporated fuel gauge
• Locking fold-down handles and wheel kit
• Hour meter with maintenance resets
• 6,250 Surge Watts/5,000 Rated Watts
• Non-CARB Compliant/Not For Sale In California

This engine runs pretty quietly considering the engine size, the engine also starts fairly easily with a pull start.  It has locking handles which are long enough to allow it to be moved around easily.  Keep in mind though if you’re running electronic equipment off of this or most other generators, you’re going to run the risk of damaging it since this doesn’t create a clean enough energy wave.  So if you’re running any sensitive equipment for any length of time, look into voltage regulation.

These are just some of the Generac portable generators you can pick up, there are several others, I’d suggest looking around a bit more before making a purchase.
